Harnessing Stage Fright

Stage fright affects far more people than most realise. From first-time presenters to experienced leaders, the physical and psychological response to speaking in front of others is a natural part of being human.

The challenge isn’t eliminating nerves altogether. In fact, many accomplished speakers, performers and leaders still experience them. The difference is that they have learned how to channel that energy productively rather than allowing it to undermine their performance.

This practical, actor-led masterclass explores the psychology and physiology of stage fright, equipping participants with proven techniques to manage pressure and perform at their best when it matters most. Whether you’re presenting to a small team, pitching to clients or speaking to a large audience, you’ll leave with practical tools to help you show up with greater calm, control and confidence.

Course outline:

Led by our team of professional actors and communication specialists, this experiential masterclass combines behavioural science with practical stagecraft techniques used by performers to manage pressure and deliver under scrutiny.

Participants will explore why stage fright occurs, how it affects both mind and body, and what can be done to interrupt unhelpful patterns before they take hold. Through a series of practical exercises, they will develop techniques to manage nerves, regulate their physical responses and build greater confidence in high-pressure situations.

Working in a supportive environment, participants will be guided through our proven process for harnessing stage fright, followed by practical speaking exercises designed to embed the techniques in real time. Rather than attempting to eliminate nerves, the focus is on learning how to work with them effectively, transforming anxious energy into greater presence.

By the end of the session, participants will have a toolkit of practical strategies they can immediately apply to presentations, meetings, pitches and other speaking opportunities where confidence and composure matter most.

Further learning:

Each participant will receive a 1:1 coaching and rehearsal session. This provides the opportunity to work on a real upcoming conversation, test different approaches and receive personalised feedback in a safe and supportive environment.

Sessions are delivered online and must be completed within 30 days of attending the masterclass.
